There are two things I absolutely love whenever I made one of a kind dresses (OOAK): first, of course, is the main goal to help to fundraise to a good cause! And second, the meaning of each element of the dress: the “concept behind the dress“!
This new Sam’s Secret OOAK Gown was made to fundraising to American Cancer Society through RFL, and the fight against cancer was my inspiration to create it.
The wavy spears on the back (attached on the spine), represent the different kinds of cancers: all of them attacking from the back. While some of them have bold explicit attack as results of bad habits – as lung cancer as result of smoke; some other cancers have a completely silent attack (the almost transparent spears on the gown)…
The bodice back is wide open representing how vulnerable we all are to such kind of silent attacks…

The front bodice with this delicate red silk texture, represents a macro cellular view of the first impact of the illness on our bodies.

And the skirt represent the recovering process: a tiny belt delimit the very important diagnosis day, when it is possible to start to fight back against cancer. The dark brown nearby the belt represents the heavy treatment while the vibrant red shades growing till the bottom of the skirt represent the recovering health, full of life!
And, of course, there are a lamp chain, also in vibrant red, surrounding the skirt on the bottom: it represents the wonderful family members, friends and care givers who support with love and comfort whoever is fighting against cancer!

The gown includes: fashion top and pants as skirt base in all layers, the flex skirt (as pelvis attachment) and the wavy spears on the back (as spine attachment) – so you can wear the gown with or without the spears on the back.
Sam’s Secret RFL OOAK Gown will be auctioned next Saturday, June/20th at NOON SLT at Patch Thibaus Auditorium (Couture Boulevard/67/66/3015) during an amazing OOAK Fashion Show organized by Frolic Mills including: Amutey DeCuir, Ashoka Eales, Callie Cline, Chianera Cioc, Dezi Jarvinen, Digit Darkes, Eshi Otawara, Indyra Seigo, Mami Jewell, Nardya Rousselot, Nicky Ree, Raven Pennyfeather, Samsara Nishi, Sissy Pessoa, Stiletto Moody , Valenttina Carfagno, VictoriaV McMillan and Ziamela Loon.

“Redheads love green!” was the first thing my dear friend Samara Barzane told me when I asked her about what she would like to have from Sam’s Secret Boutique as donation to the 2nd Annual Relay Gala Ball, benefiting RFL. (The Gala Ball will be Sunday, June/14th at 6pm SLT - at Southern Colorado 129, 31, 26)
And as far as she loves Sam’s Secret CHAOS Dress, here we go: a special limited edition of Sam’s Secret CHAOS Dress in Green is available at Southern Colorado 129, 31, 26 with all proceeds going to American Cancer Society. This green version will not be available anymore after RFL season is over! So hurry up, you have only 1 month to buy it!
Before the Gala Ball starts, we will have a Lingerie Fashion Show, from 4pm to 6pm SLT. Each designer will present 2 lingeries during the fashion show, one of them as an exclusive item that will be auctioned during the Gala Ball.
Here are my contributions: the first photo is the exclusive – and daring – silks to be auctioned with all proceeds going to RFL, and the second photo is the regular lingerie that is available on a regular RFL-vendor at Southern Colorado 129, 31, 26.

Hey there, dear readers!
Yesterday the FASHION EXPO benefiting RFL started! The theme of this year is: Wizard of Oz !!
If you didn’t visit yet, you probably will love it! By the way, lot of Fashion Expo decoration was generously donated by Candy Cerveau and Makavyn Eldritch of the Magic of Oz sim. Candy is a sweetheart! Thank you!
To create this new release launched during Fashion Expo, I was inspired by the influence of one of the elements of the story: As we all know, the story begins when a hurricane takes Dorothy to a magic land, and she starts her adventure with her new friends following the yellow bricks path!
Well… What happens when a fashion girl is affected by a hurricane, without been taken to a magic land?? What happens? Her dress just get all SWIRLed!! lol
I give you Sam’s Secret SWIRL Dress!
It was originally created in teal, as far as blue is the dress color Dorothy was wearing during her adventure. If you add a black vest you have this second option dress:

There is also an all dark black skirt available (without the colorful detail on the bottom). By the way, the black vest is jacket layer, so you can wear it with any other lingerie you have instead of the fashion top provided with the outfit. This make Sam’s Secret SWIRL Dress very versatile and you can mix & match it as you wish.
Both teal options of this dress will be fundraising to RFL during the FASHION EXPO.
There are also additional colors: gold, old pink and light black. Also available with a black vest option. So you have 8 options. And, of course, you can also take the fat packs.
Sam’s Secret SWIRL Dress is available during this week at Fashion Expo at Rhodium 165/216/51.
After that, it will be available at Sam’s Secret Boutique at Rue DAntibes 160/160/28.

Sweet Nef,
When I was opening my inventory today to wear your Carabinae Dress ( L’Abel / Ivalde ) to take these pictures, I was recalling our chat last month, and how relief you were to be able to finish it before your illness got strong.
And even after that, with your very delicate health, I saw you launching new releases… and I was really worried about you.
I think you took a very wisdom decision to take a break of SL to focus yourself to recover your health!
I wish, from my heart, you will recover it very very very soon!
And I wish you will have lot of good time with your family at your new home! Enjoy them! Family IS the most important thing!
And I wish you will be very successful on your new RL project! (but please… don’t push yourself hard! Please, respect your health recover time, ok?)
And, of course, I wish you will be back to SL soon

Fashion Expo benefiting RFL
Fashion Expo 2009, benefiting RFL – Relay For Life, will start tomorrow, June 8th and it will be open till June 14th, 2009. It is so exciting!
Today, after finishing to setup my temporary store over there, I took a walk around, and I’ve to tell you: there are LOT of beautiful stuff waiting for you! Clothes, jewelry, shoes, you name it!

“ONE WORLD, ONE HOPE! GO RELAY
What is Relay?
Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society and has been active, and continually growing, in Second Life for 4 years. Last year, the Second Life Relay For Life (SLRFL) raised over $215,000.00 US dollars. The RFL in SL, itself, is a fun-filled, overnight event that unites SL individuals throughout the world to celebrate survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), remember loved ones and raise money for the fight against cancer.
“Individuals who are willing to give their time and energy to this exciting event, as a volunteer or participant, have made a commitment to fight back against this disease and let the community know that you can beat cancer.”
Relay for Life Teams form in February, beginning with the 2009 Kick Off Party March 14th, and hold fund raising events in SL from March – July. The Relay for Life in SL finishes with the Official RFL SL overnight Relay on July 18th & 19th, 2009, with a Wrap-Up Party and Awards in August. Team members gather at their Team Campsites they build, walk the RFL SL Track, enjoy live music, participate in fun events, and explore the many Relay Sims as the event runs overnight and into the next morning. In 2008, over 80 RFL SL Teams participated in the largest virtual fundraising walk in the world and this year the number will be even higher.
The Relay For Life in SL has the ability to virtually bring together friends, families, businesses, and support organizations from all over the world, all with the goal of eliminating cancer.
Fighting cancer is a team effort. The strength of people coming together for a common cause is greater than the strength of one. Teams are the spirit of Relay for Life in SL!
