RUNWAY Fashion Week 2009
I can’t believe about this week speedy, yet! It was so fast!
RUNWAY Fashion Week is over after a huge success! And it coincided with New York Fashion Week at the real Bryant Parks. That was a so cool idea!
You can still visit the special store with total of 35 designers, some of the greatest design talent on the grid, who were gorgeously presented on the catwalk, thanks to RUNWAY Magazine and the co-sponsors: MaxMoney, Maximillian March, Fabulous Fashion and metaLIFE.
I’m so honored Sam’s Secret Boutique was one of the brands included!
As usual after one of the Sam’s Secret Boutique Fashion Show, I wanna say my personal THANK YOU for those talented fashion professionals who made it happen!
I would like to start with my very special thank you to Maggie Mahoney, RUNWAY Magazine and RUNWAY Productions CEO, who invited me to this wonderful initiative, and who was so kind and nice handling my short delay because RL issues I had. I really appreciate that, Maggie! You live in my heart! Thank you so much!
My special thank you also goes to Payton Heron, RUNWAY Productions Creative Director, who was available to support me in any kind of need or issue I could have during the preparation phase of the event. You are a sweetie!

Sam’s Secret Boutique is all about wearing different stuff depending on our mood… so… voilà!
After my 2 previous classic dresses in Black & White…. I was with this urge to design a colorful dress! (check the classic B & W dresses here: Sam’s Secret Alexander Dress and Sam’s Secret December Gown),
I also was with a non conventional dress in mind… so I started to create the skirt in a completly chaotic way… The result of this mood is: Sam’s Secret CHAOS Dress.
Actualy my restless mood drove me also to dare in color options… For sure red is always my first color option, and I guess you agree with me: “red” is almost a “classic” color… so I decided also to create this dress in a daring color: purple!
And guess what? Since I launched this dress inworld purple is the best seller! I love my daring customers!

Sams Secret Timeless Outfit
This is another new release I’m launching during the RUNWAY Fashion Week. (read more about RUNWAY Fashion Week)

Now let me tell you more about this new release… I created this outfit as my way to say “thank you” for the Timeless Modeling Agency team, who did a wonderful job last year during my first solo fashion show!
My first thought when I started to create it was to have something that could last forever as “time-less”… maybe some “classic” style, maybe black & white… But I changed my mind! I think serious fashion professionals, as they are, from time to time need a break to rest and to have fun!! And for sure “classic style” is not the best to way to have fun!
So I decided to create something you could use in a regular basis: to have fun hanging out with friends, or to go shopping, or maybe to wear during the informal meetings at work!
For this, the outfit itself must to be light, must be fashionable, must have options, must be colorful, and, of course, must to be sexy!
The outfit includes 2 different fashion tops, with flex chains, pants with flex and sculpt items.

Here we go! The second edition of Sam’s Secret Boutique Photo Contest!
What sort of secrets do you have in SecondLife? What are your favourite secret places in Second Life? Do you have a secret spot you absolutely LOVE in this particular place? What are your secret thoughts and secret feelings when you are visiting this place? Oh! Do you have secret thoughts and secret feelings always, wherever you go? Did you ever consider the possibility of sharing some of those little secrets?
Would you love to have a very special outfit to wear when you are in this particular secret mood? A special outfit created inspired by your secrets? An outfit that will have your name?
This will be a double challenge photo contest!
YOUR challenge is to win it, and MY challenge is to create an outfit inspired by your secrets!
If you are the winner, you will take me to a field trip on the spot where you shot your winner photo. During this field trip we will chat a lot, and you will have the opportunity to inspire me and maybe to do some special requests regarding this outfit I’ll be creating inspired by you! Of course you will receive this outfit as part of the Grand Prize! And you will receive it before it is available at my store.

The winners will be announced on March/15th.
The field trip will be done as soon as possible after the winners announcement.

- You must be wearing one of the Sam’s Secret Boutique outfits presented during the RUNWAY Fashion Week 2009. And don’t worry! You probably already have one of them: this list includes: 3 new releases, 7 outfits launched during 2008 and 1 freebie. You can wear them in any color you have. Check them all on the photo at the end of this post (the freebie is not on the photo).
- You can post only one photo. If you post more than one, the olders will be disqualify.
- You must post your photo on Sam’s Secret Boutique flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/samssecretboutique
To do that you must have a flickr account, and join Sam’s Secret Boutique flickr group.
It is free, and really easy to create. (http://www.flickr.com) - Name the picture as “Sam’s Secret Boutique – Photo Contest”.
- Tag your photo “PHOTOCONTESTFEB2009“, otherwise judges will not be considering it.
- Write a text on the description field, sharing your secret thoughts and secret feelingswhen shoting this photo.
- Please, on the description field also include your avatar name, the outfit name and the SURL where you took your photo.
- You can photoshop your photo if you wish.

Judgment Process

The “secret panel of judges” has 3 names, not including me. (by the way…. they are COOL and famous ppl. Each one of them is absolutly FREE to judge as they think it is the best way!
All I asked them was to rank the top 3 photos, and share with me some words about the first one… Why did they choose the photo number 1 as the best? What caught them?
I’ll be quoting their words when publishing the winners and the the “secret panel of judges”
In draw case I’ll open a 24hs “flickrvoting” inviting the group to vote from the draw options. If we continue with the draw after 24hs, then I’ll have the last word… I hope we will not go so far to have the winners names!

Sams Secret Recycled Dress in Red
Today is Valentine’s Day, let’s show our love to all those wonderful Aussie friends!
I just joined the fundraising campaing for Victoria Bush Fire Relief Fund. I’m sure you already heard about the bush fire in Victoria / Australia.
I set a vendor with the Sam’s Secret Recycled Dress in RED – this dress was originaly created as a gift exclusive to members of my SL group - and I decided to start to sell it with 100% of proceeds going to Australian Red Cross to help the fire victims.
If you wanna help to fundraise, you can stop by at my store and buy it for L$ 150. There is a script inside the vendor, and 100% of your L$ will go to the fund. (TP to store)
Or… if you prefere to support the fundraise dancing during a Formal Ball today, there is this Valentine’s Fundraising Ball. (I’m copy & pasting the notecard with all informations). I hope to see you there supporting our Aussie friends!

Australian Fundraising Ball
Please join on Feb. 14th, Valentine’s day, to show our Aussie friends our love. The formal will run from 12 noon till 9pm SLT. Please drop by to make a donation and stay awhile to enjoy great LIVE DJs, great dancing, and maybe a cuddle or two. Bring your special valentine with you. The Formal is at Hope Gardens in Southern Colorado. A beautiful garden with waterfall, small river, and special little surprises all over.

The talented jewelry designer Alexandar Vargas, owner of by Alexander, droped me his awesome AV – Infinity Bride Set and asked me if I would like to create a dress to wear with it. Of couse the answer was YES! I also said “Now I need a groom to get married wearing this awesome jewelry!!” lol
As far as I haven’t a SL fiance at the moment, I decided to create a cocktail dress so I can wear it right now!
Sam’s Secret ALEXANDER Dress is a classic and elegant Black & White Dress with delicate lace. What I love about this dress is the flex laced fashion top! And it has attachment spot options (spine and chest).

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 1, 2009 – Bryant Park, Second Life – RUNWAY Magazine, the number one fashion magazine in Second Life, will host it’s first Fashion Week. This week of fashion shows will feature a broad range of fashion designers including couture, formal, causal, swimwear and more. Shows will begin on February 13 and run through February 20. A total of 35 designers will be represented in Fashion Week 2009 in 4 – 5 shows daily, beginning at 1 pm PST at RUNWAYs main sim, Bryant Park, in Second Life. In addition to the fashion shows, many of the participating designers will have on-site boutiques, offering designs seen in their shows and there will be gifts offered to attendees by many of the designers.
RUNWAY Magazine will co-sponsor the event with MaxMoney, a newly launched in-world money exchange venture by virtual world entrepreneur, Maximillian March of Max March Industries, Fabulous Fashion, a popular SLCN.TV weekly fashion talk show, hosted by Angie Mornington, and metaLIFE, the creators of a global platform that will connect and empower people worldwide and foster social interactions within virtual worlds.
