I’m taking some days off on vacation… Happy Holidays!!

Sams Secret Holiday Gift in red
Hey there!
This is my last post before I go on vacation during the holidays, and I would like to say THANK YOU for all who supported me during 2008! I really apreciate that!
Not sure about you, but I think the best way to a fashion designer can say “thank you” is to give gifts!
I was planing to create something fresh new to send you as holiday gift, but when I started to create it I changed my mind!!
As far as this gift is to celebrate the year of 2008 as my first year as fashion designer in SL, I decided to revisit some of my creations… and I decided to create a “Sam’s Secret Recycled Dress”
Yes! A recycled dress!
Probably you will recognize the cut of the fashion top from one of the first Sam’s Secret dresses… you will recognize the cut of the botton from another Sam’s Secret dress… the skirt, for sure is from another Sam’s Secret dress! The underskirt is from a different one! And last, but not least, the textures are from other 3 Sam’s Secret dresses !!
So, just to have fun, I created this Sam’s Secret gift from 7 other Sam’s Secret dresses.
As all other kind of “recycled” itens, there is a sort of charming “uncut” mood in this dress…
Here are some photos of Sam’s Secret Recycled Dress:

Sams Secret Recycled Dress in Plum - Freebie
I would like you accept this dress as my way to say THANK YOU for all the support you gave me during 2008!
The red version of this dress is exclusive for Sam’s Secret customers! I sent this to you yesterday, my dear customers. Thank you so much for all the support! I love you!
And the plum version is available as FREEBIE inside a RED GIFT BOX at my store… Help yourself and enjoy!
I also prepared a special gift, as you see in the first photo of this post: Sam’s Secret Holiday Gift in Red. This is a red version of Sam’s Secret December Gown, and it will not be available to sell anywhere.
This is an exclusive gift I’m giving case by case, to the people who gave me special support. People who, one way or other, helped me to grow in the fashion industry during 2008! This list includes my top customers, who had been spending lot of L$ month after month buying almost everything I made. This list includes some of the fashion industry professional I had the opportunity to work with during 2008. This list includes people who gave professional opportunity inviting me as fashion designer to special events. And, of course, this list includes dear friends who encouraged me to persue into this fashion designer career. I love you all!!
If you received this gift, it is because you are very special to me and I’m special thankful for you! (By the way, I still need to drop some copies of it inworld today…)
I hope you enjoy the dresses, and I hope you have wonderful time wearing them
Tomorrow I’ll be going on vacations!! See you in January!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Thank you!
cheers,
kisses,

Today I would like to share with you some photos of “Wish Upon a Star” Collection 2 colours One of a kind by Alexander – another one of a kind donations to The Stylista Festival with the goal to fundraise to Make a Wish Foundation (read all informations about this event: http://stylistafestival2008.blogspot.com/ and http://www.wish.org/). All photos you see here were kindness sent by RubyStartlight Writer.
I first hear about Alexandar Vargas during my Fashion Show back in November. As sponsor of the fashion agency that was presenting my fashion show, all models were wearing his fine jewelry.
When I started to design my one of a kind dress to this fundraising campaign, I IMed him and shared with him some thoughts about what I was planing to create, and I asked if he would like to join us in this effort. He promptly said “Yes”!
I’m cut & pasting below his touching words about his inspiration to create those wonderful jewelry.
Thank you Alexandar!
“Inspiration
I was blessed to have a healthy childhood. As a man I married a wonderful woman and we have been blessed with healthy children. We have had some unfortunate events in our lives as well.
I always wondered the what is… what kind of things could have been if these events had not taken place in our lives.
This sent me on a personal journey of seeing what i could do for others. That led to supporting charities such as ACS, Autism, and Make a wish Foundation. I do it for my wife, and for my self. It gives me a sense of peace to know that others will have some sort of reconciliation, and a chance for hope, joy, and maybe life.
When i began making this necklace i thought of all the stars above and the saying we tell our kids… look a shooting star, make a wish! in twisting and colouring the prims i saw two open slots by the throat of the necklace. In it i embedded two hearts. Each to represent the parents. Always its the children that keep the parents strong. But its the parents hearts that give them the strength and love to face what they are facing.
there is nothing more precious then a child, nor helping make their wish come true. Be it to see a shooting star, or to be amazed at a beautiful rainbow.
Why i coloured one set in a spectrum of colours, and another as a star.

About me
I love art, and creating gives me a sense of peace. I have been in SL for quite some time and never thought of building until I companioned with my long term best friend. I wanted to give her something unique. So i sat up trying to rememeber what my good friend had taught me when i first joined sl. I twisted prims and came out with a simple choker. My companion was thrilled with it. tho as simple as it was, she insisted i begin making jewelry, and thats were i stand today. I thrive on original pieces and artistic ones. I take most my inspiration from real life pieces my family owns, but make them into something that is not possible in rl, only in sl.

Sam’s Secret MAKE A WISH – Stylista Festival

Sams Secret Make a Wish
The opening Fashion Shows of Stylista Festival yesterday had lot of sooooooo gorgeous outfits! And Tillie Ariantho was so fast publishing the first photos during a break between both fashion shows. Check her photos here.
Ok! Now finaly I can share with you photos and what inspired me to create my one-of-a-kind dresses!
When I received the invitation to join this event to fundraising to Make a Wish Foundation, I revisited my childhood. Thanks god it was healthy!
And I recall something I loved to do when I was kid: cut magazines with scissors to make silhouettes (paper doll chains)! And also cut them to do collages creating paper-clothes to my dolls! Oh!!! That was a loooot of fun! Now I realize probably that was my first attempt to became a fashion designer… lol
So… my “fashion childhood” was my inspiration to design my contribution to this fundraising event to Make a Wish Foundation.
Just like a kid, I cut The Best of SL Magazine cover textures to create a colorful and conceptual look for this dress. (Oh! Of couse I chated with Frolic Mills to have his agreement and endorsement to do that.)
The balck & white magazine textures are out of focus intentionally on the body dress and skirt, so you are unable to read the text… and I did a collage with the colorful cuts of the magazine, creating 5 petals flowers, that look like stars.
And, of course, I couldn’t resist to add a paper-dolls-chain as part of the back attachment
Yesterday, chating with the other fashion designers during the Fashion Show, I said those sillouettes somehow represent all of us who are working together to fundraise to Make a Wish.
I also added some sculped flowers as an attachement on the belly, using the same colorful parts of the covers, focusing on “powerful” messages of each one of the textures: for example the word “heroes” from the August issue about the RFL season.

Sams Secret Make a Wish
Anyway… wondering if you would be confortable or not wearing a magazine… I decided to create a second look of this dress with my own textures
Mixing 2 colors I love: yellow and black!
Both looks have the same black collar and black straps on the back. By the way, the black straps have the “M”, “A” and “W” letters built in as in “Make A Wish”.

I hope you like them! > You can visit here to check all the gorgeous donations and to bid them! <
And, I would like to thanks Anne Dauning and SerinaJane Loon, who were soooo kind to accept to work as volunteer models to present my dresses on the catwalk! THANK YOU SO MUCH girls!
Everyone who is working in this event is doing it as volunteer, and all the revenue during the 3 week event will go direct to Make a Wish Foundation.
I wish we will be able to contribute to Make a Wish Foundation!
cheers,
